MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian government has intensified efforts to commence the implementation of the newly validated four-year National Protection Policy Framework covering 2026-2030.
In 2013, the Framework was adopted to provide temporary assistance to victims.
But the new gender policy document will now put the country in a better position to enforce a transformative social protection system for the targeted groups.
A release said the implementation of the policy will be carried out by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, with support from donor partners, targeting women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
At the validation forum on Friday, October 2, 2026, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Gbeme Horace-Kollie, disclosed that the new social protection policy will strengthen institutions, laws, governance structures, and accountability, among others.
