KAKATA, MARGIBI COUNTY, LIBERIA-The 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Kakata, Margibi County, has sentenced two Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) senior officers to twenty years each in connection with 181 thousand US dollars and over thirty-six million Liberian Dollars Drug case.
Judge Roosevelt Willie on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, announced the maximum jail term for the three convicts following trial jurors’ guilty verdict against them, consistent with the law.
The convicts are Joe Logan, an LDEA Senior Officer assigned at the Roberts International Airport, Senior female Officer Lovette Flowers, and Tony Obi, a Nigerian National.
But defense lawyers took an exception to Judge Willie’s September 29 ruling by announcing an appeal to the Supreme Court during its October Term, consistent with Liberia’s Criminal Procedure Law.
Before Judge Roosevelt Willie’s ruling, State prosecutors produced strong evidence that led to the conviction of the three drug traffickers.
