MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Head of Communication at the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS), Samuel Nyemeh, has disclosed that 99.0 percent of MCSS students successfully passed this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).

Speaking on ELBC’s Super Morning Show on Monday, September 7, 2026, Nyemeh described this year’s results as the most impressive performance by the MCSS since the end of the Liberian Civil War 23 years ago.

He attributed the good results to sweeping reforms instituted by the MCSS Superintendent, Dr. Augurie Stevens, aimed at improving the quality of education across the school system.

Nyemeh said:” One of the key reforms was a credential audit, which resulted in the rightful placement of teachers across MCSS schools based on their qualifications and areas of expertise.

The MCSS Communications Head also commended President Joseph Boakai for appointing Dr. Stevens to head the institution, noting that her leadership has contributed significantly to the positive changes within the school system.

Samuel Nyemeh then expressed optimism that the reforms will continue to improve the quality of education and academic outcomes for students across MCSS schools.
