MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has described the late Captain Moses Weefur, an accomplished aviator, as a great loss to the country’s aviation sector.

President Boakai said Captain Weefur, as a public servant, dedicated his life to improving, protecting and safeguarding Liberia’s aviation industry.

Paying tribute on behalf of the Liberian Government, President Boakai conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for God’s divine healing.

The Liberian Leader said: “Liberia has lost a great man whose hunger for a better aviation system remained unmatched”.

According to him, Captain Weefur will forever be remembered for his service, sacrifices, and courage towards the rebranding process of Liberia’s Aviation Industry.

Meanwhile, the Management of the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) highlighted the contributions of the late Captain Weefur to the Liberian Aviation Sector.

Also paying tribute, the Director General of the LCAA, Julius Dennis, remembered the late Captain Weefur for his technical skills, experience, and support to the institution.

Dennis emphasized the captain’s high-level of professionalism, dedication, and commitment to improving Liberia’s aviation standards.

Before his death, Captain Moses Weefur served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau and as Deputy Managing Director at the LCAA, among others.
