GBARPOLU COUNTY, LIBERIA- A 32-year-old man identified as Benny Gayflor is in police custody, facing a rape allegation of rape in Bokomu District, Gbarpolu County.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred on Saturday, August 15, 2026, while the wife of the accused travelled to a neighboring town to attend a funeral service.

It is alleged that suspect Gayflor took advantage of his wife’s absence and sexually abused his 12-year-old stepdaughter in his bedroom.

According to our correspondent, the alleged crime was discovered when the victim’s daughter returned home, and she found her husband and stepdaughter naked in her bedroom.

When confronted, Gayflor reportedly admitted to the act, claiming that he was deceived by the devil.

Benny Gayflor is currently being held in police custody in the Barkpallamou area and is expected to be transferred to the Bopolu Magisterial Court.
