MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Electricity Corporation is working out a mechanism to transition from traditional meters to digital meters, which will reduce human contact, power theft, and promote effective management and control of the system.
LEC said the digital transformation is part of its five-pillar strategic plan to enhance consumer satisfaction, timely response to users, and minimize the issue of meter tampering.
Appearing on the LNTV-Liberia Today, LEC Head of Media and Communication, Philip Farley, noted that the Corporation is moving forward to ensure energy sovereignty without heavy reliance on imported power from neighboring Countries.
As part of the LEC strategic plan, Mr. Farley said the Corporation is working out modalities to become financially viable to generate its own revenues to manage the daily operations of the entity.
According to the LEC Media and Communication Manager, LEC is improving its customer service, while expanding the entity’s presence across the Country and at the same time reducing the wait time for customers needing services.
