MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has honored two individuals for their outstanding contributions to the promotion of Liberia’s 179th Independence Day celebrations.
Those honored are renowned Ghanaian Pan-African content creator Berthold Kobina Ackon, commonly known as “Wode Maya”, and the Chief Executive Officer of The Gathering Group, Jenkins Nyuma.
An Executive Mansion release said President Boakai, during a brief ceremony, lauded Wode Maya for using his widely followed digital platforms to showcase Liberia’s tourism, culture, history, and hospitality.
In recognition of his efforts and his travels across Liberia highlighting the country’s unique attractions and untold stories, the President presented Wode Maya with a Special Presidential Pin as a symbol of national appreciation.
In his remarks, Wode Maya thanked President Boakai for the recognition and described Liberia as a country blessed with extraordinary history, breathtaking natural attractions, and warm, welcoming people.
According to him, his visit provided a different narrative about Liberia by showcasing its beauty, resilience, and investment opportunities to a global audience.
