MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Director of GeoMining Environmental Consultancy Incorporated, Carlos Tingban, has called for modern exploration technologies to unlock Liberia’s mineral, oil, and gas potential.
Speaking on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, in Monrovia, Tingban made the call at the Exhibition of Advanced Mineral, Oil and Gas Finding Technologies.
The event, commemorated under the theme, “Unlocking Liberia’s Natural Resource Potential through Modern Exploration Technology, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships,” was held at a local hotel in Monrovia.
According to him, Liberia’s abundant mineral and petroleum resources remain largely underexplored because many areas still lack comprehensive geological information.
He said modern technologies improve exploration accuracy, reduce costs, minimize environmental impacts, accelerate discoveries, and increase investor confidence nationwide.
The ED of GeoMining added that technology transfer, capacity building, and strategic partnerships are essential for sustainable resource development and economic growth.
At the same time, Acting Minister for Mines and Energy, Eudora Bay-Pritchard, has encouraged the adoption of modern technologies to improve mineral exploration, strengthen geological information, and support sustainable resource development in Liberia.
According to her, digital innovations are improving efficiency, transparency, and the quality of geological information for responsible mineral resource management.
She said,” Liberia must remain open to emerging technologies and global best practices to strengthen institutions and attract responsible investments”.
Madam Bay-Pritchard encouraged participants to actively engage, exchange ideas, build professional partnerships, and maximize learning opportunities throughout the conference.
Earlier, the Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jeddi Armah, underscored economic diplomacy as a critical instrument for attracting strategic investment, technology transfer, and sustainable development within Liberia’s mining and energy sectors.
Cllr. Armah delivered the statement on behalf of Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti at the Exhibition of Advanced Mineral, Oil and Gas Finding Technologies.
According to him, Liberia’s economic diplomacy framework seeks to attract quality investment, expand trade, facilitate technology transfer, and strengthen national productive capacity.
He said,” The Government prioritizes investments that develop Liberian expertise, strengthen institutions, create long-term value, and support sustainable economic transformation”.
The Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs added that Liberia’s future prosperity depends on strong institutions, responsible resource governance, investor confidence, and mutually beneficial international partnerships.
