MONROVIA, LIBERIA- The Center for African Policy Research and Advisory (CAfPRA), in partnership with Christ Embassy Liberia, has condemned the promotion of Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) activities in Liberia.
CAfPRA Executive Director, Dr. Segun Adebayo, said the increasing billboards promoting LGBT-related messages are unethical and contrary to the country’s moral values.
Addressing a news conference Tuesday in Paynesville, Dr. Adebayo urged the media to engage lawmakers and relevant stakeholders in opposing any proposed bill that supports such activities.
He alleged that donors backing SRHR programs in Liberia are using online content to encourage children to engage in sexual activities regardless of age or sex.
Meanwhile, CAfPRA said stronger measures are needed to safeguard Liberia’s cultural and family values from what it termed external influences.
At the same time, Christ Embassy Liberia has disclosed plans to launch a campaign against Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) activities in the country.
The Country Head Pastor of Christ Embassy Churches in Liberia, Pastor Alfred Mayson, said exposing children to sexualization is wrong, unethical, and harmful to moral development.
He stated that LGBT-related practices are anti-Christian and contrary to biblical teachings, as upheld by the church.
Pastor Mason further urged donor partners to prioritize child development and well-being rather than what he described as a harmful influence on minors.
Meanwhile, the church reaffirmed its commitment to oppose any bill it believes promotes the sexualization of children in Liberia.
