Heavy Flood Left Over Fifty Families Homeless in Upper Margibi County

MONTSERRADO COUNTY, LIBERIA-More than fifty families have been made homeless after a heavy flood destroyed their homes in the Israel Community in Upper Margibi County.

The disaster was triggered by heavy rainfall and rising water levels, which rendered several families homeless.

According to our correspondent, the victims are currently squatting with family members and friends in the community.

The Chairman of the Israel Community, Prince Manyango, said:” Victims are appealing to the government of Liberia and humanitarian organizations for immediate assistance”.

Meanwhile, one of the victims, Jessica Kpingba, said:” We need temporary shelters and clothing, as our belongings are with others”.
