Youth and Sports Minister Outlines Initiatives Undertaken in First 100 Days

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of Youth and Sports, Cornelia Kruah, has outlined a series of institutional reforms and youth empowerment initiatives undertaken during her administration’s first one hundred days.

Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, Minister Kruah said,” The reforms mark the beginning of a broader effort to strengthen the Ministry and create opportunities for Liberia’s youthful population”.

She noted that the ministry has established dedicated leadership for gender and social inclusion, with specific attention to persons with disabilities and minority groups.

Highlighting the ministry’s youth empowerment efforts, Minister Kruah disclosed that during the first period of Fiscal Year 2026, the ministry launched five fellowship programs, covering all fifteen counties.

The Youth and Sports Minister said the government-funded programs, valued at around four million U.S dollars, support eleven key areas, including business development, back-to-school assistance, and scholarships, among others.
