MONROVIA, Liberia – United Nations Resident Coordinator Christine Umutoni has emphasized the importance of the United Nations’ partnership and continued commitment to Liberia in addressing global challenges.
Speaking at the opening of the first training session for delegates of the 6th Model United Nations Liberia Conference, Madam Umutoni encouraged delegates to develop life skills through the training with a focus on negotiation, critical thinking, and public speaking.
The UN Resident Coordinator urged the delegates to lead with integrity, inclusion, and respect, while advocating for unity, justice, human rights, and dignity.
The UN envoy noted that delegates should ask questions, challenge assumptions, and share their ideas openly, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and respect in their roles.
Madam Umutoni expressed confidence in the participants’ potential to excel and contribute meaningfully to Liberia and the world.
Meanwhile, Heads of Model United Nations Conference Liberia charged delegates to be optimistic as they prepare to be equipped and model the United Nations.
They also lauded the UNDP and the UN Resident Coordinator for the support.
