Gbarpolu County Citizens Movement Hails Mines and Energy Ministry…

GBARPOLU COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Gbarpolu County Citizens Movement has lauded the Mines and Energy Minister for recent efforts in curbing illegal mining.

 The organization is a local group founded by young people of the county with the aim of protecting the county’s natural resources.

The group’s Chief Executive, Ballah Johnson, thanked Minister Matenokay Tingbeh for taking such a step toward protecting resources, stressing that illegal mining has become a trend in that part of the country.

He also expressed satisfaction over the shutting down of companies that are not in compliance with the law governing the sector.
