MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Labor has warned business owners across Montserrado County that no labor inspection exercise has been authorized at this time.
Addressing a news conference on Monday, June 1, 2026, in Monrovia, Labor Inspector General John Kangbah urged the business community to report anyone claiming to be conducting inspections on behalf of the ministry without approval.
He said,” All legitimate inspectors must present valid identification cards and official authorization letters before accessing any business premises”.
Kangbah stressed that the ministry will ensure that all inspection activities are carried out lawfully and professionally without intimidation.
Meanwhile, the Labor Inspector General disclosed that the ministry is working with the Ministries of Commerce and Justice, under a government task force, to protect Liberian-owned businesses.
At the same time, the Labor Inspector General has warned media institutions against misrepresenting or falsely associating themselves with the ministry.
According to him, the ministry has not authorized or recognized online platforms to speak or act on its behalf.
He noted that any public communication claiming affiliation with the ministry without approval should be disregarded.
Meanwhile, the Labor Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and lawful communication in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities.
