MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) Commissioner General says the Authority has made significant progress in revenue mobilization since 2024, compared to previous years.
According to Commissioner Dorbor Jallah, Liberia has achieved a twenty-seven percent domestic revenue increase, surpassing thirteen years of growth that raises the revenue-to-gross domestic product ratio to 16.8 percent.
The LRA Commissioner General was speaking on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Paynesville City at activities marking Taxpayer Awards and Dinner Night.
The program was organized by the LRA to recognize taxpayers for their immense contributions to the revenue envelope of Liberia for the past five years.
Commissioner Dorbor Jallah said these achievements come as a result of compliance by taxpayers across the country.
At the same time, the Senate Committee Chair on Ways, Means, and Finance is urging Liberians, concessionaires, and business owners to always honor their tax obligations.
Senator Prince Moye believes that revenue compliance is critical to improving the infrastructure outlook of the country and the livelihood of Liberians.
Senator Moye, on behalf of the 55th National Legislature, thanked all compliant taxpayers across the country for their contributions to the growth and development of Liberia.
Moye said the government of Liberia depends heavily on revenue for effective operations and, as such, the need for taxpayers to remain compliant is important for the forward march of Liberia.
The LRA then awarded several companies, development partners, and government entities for their contributions to Liberia’s revenue envelope.
Those awarded include Orange and ArcelorMittal-Liberia as the highest contributors in the largest tax division, while Firestone-Liberia was awarded the highest contributor in the small tax division.
Others are the Mines and Energy Ministry as the highest contributor among public institutions, while the partner in health was awarded the highest personal income tax contributor of the year.
The LRA, at the same time, awarded Fouani Brothers in the mechanized category, while Conex and Aminata walked away first and second place in the Petroleum Sector, respectively.
The Liberia Revenue Authority also recognized Buchanan and Bo Waterside Custom Offices as first and second winners in the Rural Port of Custom Revenue Division.
