Info. Ministry Rejects President’s Insult Claims…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Information Ministry has rejected claims that President Joseph Boakai made insulting comments against Liberians.

Deputy Information Minister for Press and Public Affairs, Daniel Sando, said the President’s statement has been widely misinterpreted.

Minister Sando explained that the remark was a figurative expression, not intended to insult anyone.

He noted that the President had paraphrased a quote often attributed to former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Sando urged the public and media to avoid politicizing such a statement and instead focus on issues of national development.

At the same time, Deputy Minister Sando says Liberia is strengthening its push for economic growth through new engagements in China.

According to him, the engagement is focused on improving energy infrastructure and supporting industrial expansion.

He added that the engagements aim to attract investment and create job opportunities for Liberians.

Deputy Minister Sando said the initiative will help unlock major development opportunities for the country.
