MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has re-emphasized the government’s strong determination to rebrand and reposition Liberia on the global stage through infrastructure development.
According to President Boakai, for so long Liberia’s infrastructure outlook has been questioned in the sub-region, and as such, the government is doing all it can to resolve such an age -old problem.
Speaking on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the launch of the Local Government in Monrovia, the president urged Liberians not to give credence to negative comments about the government.
The Liberian Leader assured that the Government is not deterred and will not be distracted by negative comments, noting that his administration is focused on improving the livelihoods of Liberians.
Meanwhile, President Boakai is commending development partners and members of the 55th Legislature for their continued support for the advancement of Liberia.
At the same time, President Jospeh Boakai says the proposed 255-kilometer road project in Grand Cape Mount County is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs for young Liberians.
According to President Boakai, the project will also equip the local workforce with new skills and improve daily life by bringing markets closer to farmers, patients to healthcare, and children to schools.
The Liberian Leader was speaking over the weekend during the groundbreaking ceremony for the road project in Grand Cape Mount County.
He said, through the partnership with Pavifort AI Associates, the governments of Liberia and Sierra Leone are mobilizing about 364 million United States dollars to build modern and durable roads.
The Liberian President noted that the goal is to reduce travel time, lower transportation costs, and unlock economic potential across our nation.
President Boakia added that the project will be built to international standards, with climate resilience, enhanced safety features, and long-term maintenance systems.
