MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has recommitted to strengthening accountability, combating illegal forest activities, and ensuring forest resources benefit the Liberian people.
Justice Minister Cllr re-echoed the government’s commitment—Oswald Tweh at the 2026 Forest Governance Markets and Climate Stakeholder Forum in the United Kingdom.
Minister Tweh underscored the country’s long-standing legal and institutional framework for forest governance, while acknowledging existing challenges in enforcement and implementation.
He also expressed Liberia’s appreciation for its longstanding partnership with the United Kingdom, particularly its continued support for strengthening forest governance systems and legal frameworks.
The Forum is convening global stakeholders to advance discussions on forest governance, climate policy, and sustainable financing systems.
