Gov’t of Liberia Cautions Petroleum Importers…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia is cautioning petroleum importers against creating artificial scarcity.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah noted that the government will revoke the license of petroleum importers caught in such an act.

Minister Piah said,” Though the government recognizes the global crisis, it is important for petroleum dealers to treat Liberia with fairness”.

He said,” Artificial shortages of petroleum products on the Liberian market will not only affect ordinary citizens, but will also cripple the country’s economy”.

The information minister reassured the public of the government’s continued commitment to monitoring the petroleum market.

Meanwhile, the government says it will continue engaging petroleum importers in the country to ensure a fair petroleum market.
