Gov’t of Liberia Confirms Murder Suspects of Liberian National in Ghana will Face Court Trial

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has confirmed that the four individuals arrested in connection with the death of a Liberian national, Austin Tengbeh, in Ghana will face trial in a Ghanaian High Court.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah told the Ministry of Information Regular Press Briefing on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in Monrovia, that the nature of the case places it beyond the jurisdiction of the lower court.

Ministerial Piah confirmed that the four suspects have already been arraigned before a court in the Baatsonaa District of Ghana.

According to the minister, the trial is scheduled to commence on March 31, 2026, before the High Court.

Minister Piah also conveyed a message of calm from the Liberian Embassy in Accra, urging Liberians both at home and abroad to remain patient and allow the judicial process in Ghana to proceed without interference.
