Civil Law Court Assigned Judge Says True Strength of Judiciary Lies in Judges’ Unwavering Commitment…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The assigned judge at the Civil Law Court says the true strength of the Judiciary does not lie in buildings or procedures and gavel, but in the unwavering commitment of judges and legal practitioners.

Judge Peter Gbeneweleh highlighted fairness, impartiality, and respect for the rule of law, noting that the gavel in the courtroom should always fall in the service of justice.

He said,” The gavel is not just a symbol of judicial authority, but a physical representation that adjudicates disputes and maintains order in the administration of justice”.

Judge Gbeneweleh noted that its authority is not personal, but constitutional and reflects public trust that society places in the judiciary to resolve disputes fairly and peacefully.

Judge Peter Gbeneweleh spoke on the topic:” The Judges’ Gavel: The Symbol of Authority and Impartiality” on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the opening of the Civil Law Court March Term at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.
