Environmental Protection Agency Warns against Dirt Burning in Communities, Cities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is warning citizens to desist from burning dirt in communities and cities across Liberia.

EPA Executive Director, Dr. Emmanuel Yarkpawolo, said,” Not only is such action against Liberia’s environmental laws, but it also raises public health threats for the environment”.

Dr. Yarkpawolo made the statement when he appeared as a guest on ELBC’s ‘Night Line Liberia’ Program late Tuesday, March 3, 2026, evening.
The EPA Boss disclosed that the Agency is working to curtail the random burning of dirt, while calling on citizens to follow measures to ensure proper waste disposal.

Meanwhile, the EPA Executive Director reminded citizens of the effects of noise pollution and highlighted efforts to reduce noise pollution in Liberia.
