Liberia’s First Lady’s Office Refutes Claims Linking Her to US-Based “Fidelity Investment” Company

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Office of the First Lady, Madam Kartumu Boakai, says it has received, with grave concern, false and misleading information in the Lott Carey Alumni WhatsApp chatroom and other informal platforms, falsely linking her to a so-called company named “Fidelity Investment”.

Fidelity Investments, according report, is allegedly owned by FMR LLC and headquartered in Boston, the United States of America, with claims that the First Lady is a shareholder.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the Office of the First Lady clarified that the information is entirely false, malicious, and deliberately misleading.

It said that at no time has the First Lady been involved with, invested in, discussed, or held any shareholding, real or imagined, in any company by the name “Fidelity Investment” or any related entity.

It stated that any claim suggesting the existence of a shareholding certificate or financial interest attributed to the First Lady is a fabrication and should be treated as such.

Meanwhile, the First Lady has threatened to take appropriate action against individuals or entities found to be deliberately spreading false and defamatory information.
