UNDP, Partners, Launch 2nd Security Media Standard Operating Procedures Conference in Buchanan

GRAND BASSA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in partnership with the Press Union of Liberia and the National Elections Commission, has launched the 2nd Security Media Standard Operating Procedure conference in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

ELBC Correspondent said,” The training seeks to strengthen and differentiate the roles and responsibilities of the media and security personnel during the electioneering period”.

Our correspondent quotes the UNDP representative, Roosevelt Zayzay, as saying the training stemmed from a rift between security officers and media practitioners.

Zayzay said,” The need to create coordination between the media and security agencies is high on the agenda for the conduct of the training”.

The training brought together several media practitioners and representatives of the joint security from across Sinoe, Bomi, Gbarpolu, Rivercess, Montserrado, and Grand Bassa Counties.
