Liberia Council of Churches Urges Gov. to Cancel Protest During Festive Season

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) has called on the Government of Liberia to refuse permission to any civil society organization or pressure group to protest during the festive season.

The Secretary General of the LCC, Rev. Christopher Toe, disclosed that most urban areas are overcrowded, with people going about their normal business for the festivities, and there is no need for disruption.

Addressing a press conference held in Monrovia over the weekend, Rev. Toe called on the” Solidarity and Trust for A New Day” to postpone its planned protest scheduled for December 17.

The Secretary General of the LCC added that the December 17 protest is characterized by many activities that could hinder the operations of others.
