Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency Arrests Nigerian National for Being in Possession of Heroin

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Grand Gedeh County Detachment has arrested a 45-year-old Nigerian identified as Obina Echezona in possession of heroin.

The arrest followed a routine search operation, while en route from Liberia to the Ivory Coast with a little over three hundred thousand Liberian dollars, equivalent to over one thousand five hundred U.S dollars.

The release said suspect Echezona is currently undergoing further investigation and will be forwarded to court for prosecution on charges of illegal possession of narcotics.

The LDEA is urging the public to support the fight against illicit drug trafficking by reporting any suspicious activities.
