MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Stars Foundation has launched a global media campaign in partnership with the African First Ladies Peace Mission, shining a spotlight on the plight of orphaned and vulnerable children across
From Nashville, Tennessee, The Stars Foundation announced the start of an international campaign marking World Orphans Day, observed each year on the second Monday in November.
The African First Ladies Peace Mission, led by its Secretary General, Jewel Howard Taylor, former Vice President and First Lady of Liberia, is at the heart of this effort.
The campaign aims to raise global awareness and inspire individuals, churches, and organizations to take action for children without families or safe homes.
According to a release, for the first time, billboards promoting the cause are being displayed in New York’s Times Square and across Tennessee, symbolizing unity between Africa and the United States.
In support of the campaign, Madam Taylor hosted a film shoot at her home in Liberia for a powerful Public Service Announcement now airing internationally across Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States.
Also featured in the campaign is Monica Chakwera, former First Lady of Malawi, who is being honoured for her tireless advocacy for orphans and vulnerable children.
The Founder and CEO of Stars Foundation, Cheryl Robeson Piggott, says World Orphans Day is a call to action for humanity to uplift those without a voice.
Madam Piggott said,” Stars Foundation will continue to work with governments, faith-based groups, and humanitarian partners to deliver aid and promote child welfare across the globe”.
As the world prepares to observe World Orphans Day this November, the campaign stands as a reminder that compassion and unity can bring hope to millions of children in need.
