MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has disclosed significant advancements in its ongoing projects to expand services across the country, following a direct mandate from President Joseph Boakai to ensure that communication reaches all Liberians.
According to LBS Director General for Technical Services, Bortfeldt Lloyd, the expansion drive is progressing on multiple fronts, confirming the successful installation of new television broadcast systems in Lofa and Bomi Counties.
The Management of the State Broadcaster reported completing key technical installations and construction milestones in several counties, marking a firm commitment to transforming the nation’s Media Sector.
Lloyd also noted that to ensure uninterrupted broadcasting, the LBS Technical Team has also installed three-thousand-gallon fuel tanks at its relay stations in Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, and Maryland Counties.
He explained that the initiative is designed to alleviate consistent fuel shortages and delays in delivery from vendors, which have historically caused broadcast interruptions.
Meanwhile, the construction of the new LBS facilities in Nimba and Grand Cape Mount Counties is advancing rapidly, with both projects reportedly already at roofing level.
Deputy Director General Bortfeldt Lloyd praised LBS Director General Eugene Fahngon and his deputies for their leadership, acknowledging the strides made in transforming the State Broadcaster.
