MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former Chief of Protocol under Weah’s administration, Finda Bundoo, risks being rearrested if her legal team fails to convince the Justice Presiding in Camber at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, August 4, regarding her recent detention at the Monrovia Central Prison for proffering a defective bond.

Associate Justice Yusuf Kaba recently ordered Judge Ousman Feika to restore her freedom briefly, following an agreement between the State and defense lawyers. He later cited the parties for a legal conference on August 4, 2026.

The intent of Justice Kaba, pending the legal conference, is to hear from State lawyers on the petition for a Writ of Prohibition filed by defendant Bundoo’s lawyers, which questioned Judge Feika’s legal decision when he incarcerated the ex-Chief of Protocol for submitting an unfit bond before the Court.

Our Judicial Reporter said,” Justice Kaba’s August 4 conference will determine her rearrest or will be given additional time to submit another bond consistent with law”.

The former Chief of Protocol has since been indicted for multiple offenses ranging from money laundering, theft of property, forgery, and criminal conspiracy, among others.

At the same time, two hundred Liberian citizens from various government ministries and agencies, as well as private institutions, have completed a day-long orientation for juror service.

The individuals, referred to as prospective jurors, completed the orientation ceremony over the weekend and are expected to serve as jurors during the pending August Term of Court.

During Friday’s event, they were warned by authorities of the Jury Management Office of the Judiciary not to get involved with people’s cases, saying their role is to look at the facts during litigation and determine the matter fairly without fear or favor consistent with law.

The Head of the Jury Management Office said, “The just-ended gathering is a regular event, and the event’s turnout was encouraging as compared to previous events”.

Our Judicial Reporter said,” The August Term orientation comes at a time when fifteen jurors rendered a controversial verdict in the 6.2 million US Dollars case, which led to ex-Finance Minister, Samuel Tweah, and EX-Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA) Comptroller, Moses Cooper’s acquittal, while the other defendants were adjudged guilty”.
