Liberia Revenue Authority Boss Says Africa’s Dev. Agenda Requires Effective, Transparent, Equitable Tax Systems

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) wants effective, transparent, and equitable tax systems to remain central to Africa’s development agenda.

Commissioner General Dorbor Jallah said,” Effective, transparent, and equitable tax systems to remain central to Africa’s development agenda”.

Commissioner Jallah said effective, transparent, and equitable tax systems are the most reliable means to boost Domestic Resource Mobilization and finance Africa’s development aspirations.

He called on African leaders to stand firm in strengthening institutions and deepening collaboration to build tax systems that go beyond revenue, inspire trust, and fuel Africa’s transformation.

Commissioner General Jallah also described taxation as a pillar of sovereignty, good governance, and inclusive growth, reaffirming Liberia’s commitment to international tax best practices for good governance and inclusive development.

The LRA Boss’s statement was contained in a release, following the end of the 7th High-Level Policy Dialogue and 21st General Assembly of the West African Tax Administration Forum in neighboring Sierra Leone.
