Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency Interim Management Team withdraws Team Assigned at Roberts Int’l Airport

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Interim Management Team of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has, with immediate effect, withdrawn its entire team assigned at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) in Lower Margibi County.

According to a release, the action is a result of alleged underreporting of the quantity of drugs recently confiscated from a suspect at the airport.

The Agency highlighted that out of the eight officers withdrawn from the airport, two are currently facing investigation, indicating that those leading the charge against drugs must be people of integrity.

At the same time, the LDEA has intensified the raiding of ghettos across the country, a part of its nationwide approach to breaking criminal networks.

Meanwhile, the institution is calling on Liberian citizens to remain active by sharing relevant information that will lead to the success of their ongoing operations.

Still on the LDEA, its Margibi County Detachment has nabbed a forty-six-year-old man for having narcotics, with a street value of six hundred forty-nine thousand eight hundred Liberian Dollars.

The man, identified as the Margibi County Detachment, arrested Creem Abess Brown following a search and seizure warrant.

According to an LDEA release, the suspect was found in possession of 45kg of compressed marijuana.

The release stated that Brown is currently under investigation at the LDEA Marshall Detail and is expected to face court proceedings pending the outcome of the investigation.
