Unity Party Suspends 28 Gov. Officials for Alleged Delinquency in Party’s Duties

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Unity Party (UP) has, with immediate effect, suspended and fined twenty-eight government officials for alleged delinquency in the Party’s duties.

UP National Chairman Luther Tarpeh said,” The decision was reached due to the affected individuals’ failure to participate in the Party’s activities, despite repeated reminders”.

Those suspended include Health Minister Louise Kpoto, Liberia’s Solicitor General Augustine Fayiah, the Director General of the Liberia Institute of Public Administration, Nee-alah Varpilah, and Senator Nya Twayen.

Others are Internal Affairs Minister Francis Nyumalin, Deputy Health Minister Martha Morris, Finance Minister Augustine Nguafuan, the Director General of the Liberia Aviation Authority, Julius Dennis, and Liberia Maritime Authority Commissioner General Neto Lighe, among others.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the ruling Unity Party, Luther Tarpeh, said the decision taken against some members of the Party should not be seen as a witch hunt, while urging the suspended officials to meet up with their obligations.
