Pres. Boakai Praises Liberian Int’l Ship, Registry for Longstanding Contributions to Liberia’s Maritime Program

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has praised the Liberian International Ship and Registry (LISCR) for its longstanding contributions to Liberia’s maritime program over the years.

President Boakai said,” Such contributions have served as a cornerstone of the nation’s international reputation for decades”.

An Executive Mansion release said the President made the commendation during a high-level meeting held with top officials of the institution in Washington, D.C., the United States of America, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

According to the release, President Boakai commended the Registry’s dedication to innovation, safety, and service excellence, noting that Liberia’s Maritime Sector remains a vital pillar of the economy and a key driver of national development.

For their part, the officials, Messrs. Adam Cohen and Elan Cohen, who are co-chairs of LISCR, advanced discussions on strengthening the partnership between the Liberian Government and the Registry in enhancing Liberia’s Maritime Sector.

They also highlighted the importance of advancing regulatory frameworks and promoting global affordability to improve the livelihood of Liberian citizens.
