MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority (LSEZA) and the Liberia National Tourism Authority (LNTA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing Liberia’s first Special Tourism Economic Zone at Lake Piso in Grand Cape Mount County.

The agreement was signed by LSEZA Executive Chairman Prince Wreh and LNTA Director General Princess Eva Cooper to promote sustainable tourism investment, economic growth, environmental conservation, and community development.

Wreh described the partnership as a major milestone that will expand Liberia’s Special Economic Zone program, attract investment, create jobs, strengthen local businesses, and position Lake Piso as a leading eco-tourism destination.

Under the agreement, LSEZA will designate and administer the Special Tourism Economic Zone, oversee investment incentives, coordinate infrastructure development, and provide one-stop investment services for prospective investors.

Madam Cooper said,” The LNTA will regulate tourism standards, market Lake Piso internationally, and strengthen the capacity of tourism and hospitality operators within the zone”.

Both institutions said the partnership supports the Government of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development by diversifying the economy through high-value tourism investments and expanding opportunities for communities.
