MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A Liberian Cleric is calling for a law to restrict children below eighteen years old from accessing social media platforms, citing concerns over harmful online content.

Rev. Edwin Dennis, Founder of Last Hope International Ministries Faith Gospel Church, says the move will help protect young people from materials that affect their moral values.

According to a dispatch, Rev, Dennis identified sexual, romantic, and other explicit content as some of the materials negatively influencing children across Liberia.

He also criticized children’s exposure to violent Nigerian movies, stressing that protecting the younger generation is a shared responsibility.

Rev. Dennis made the statement during an interview with reporters in Paynesville City on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, where he urged the National Legislature to take the lead in developing laws that address children’s access to social media.
