Ministry of Public Works to Begin 138.1 km Asphalt Pavement Project…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Public Works is to commence a 138.1 km asphalt pavement project and bridge construction across the country.

According to Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah, the project will focus on key corridors, including ELWA to the Roberts International Airport, Sanniquellie to Luogatuo, and Saclepea to Tappita, among others.

He emphasized that the initiative will begin in the dry season, and it is aimed at addressing Liberia’s road challenges.

Addressing the MICAT Regular Press Briefing on Thursday, September 4, 2025, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to rehabilitating the major road network across the country.

The information minister highlighted that there will also be rehabilitation of the Clay Ashland bridge, the Saint John bridge, as well as asphalt patching on streets in Monrovia and Paynesville, among others.

Meanwhile, Minister Piah stressed that the road project aligns with President Joseph Boakai’s commitment to patronize road connectivity under the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).
