Gov. of Liberia Procures State-of-Art X-Ray Machines

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has procured twelve state-of-the-art X-ray machines to strengthen the country’s diagnostic capacity and improve healthcare delivery across health facilities.

According to the Health Ministry release, the machines are currently housed at the central medical stores near Monrovia.

The newly acquired equipment includes a Mobile X-Ray Photography System, which features a robotic arm capable of moving with precision and flexibility to capture clear imaging.

The procurement of these machines, the release said, marks a great effort by the government to decentralize specialized healthcare services and provide timely, accurate diagnostic support to patients.

The machines are designed with modern features that enhance efficiency in medical imaging, making it ideal for both emergency and routine medical cases.

The release noted that the other machine mobility allows for use in different hospital departments, including emergency wards, intensive care units, and surgical theatres.

The distribution of the machines to hospitals is expected to begin in the coming weeks as part of the Ministry of Health’s ongoing strategy to upgrade Liberia’s healthcare infrastructure.

At the same time, Health Minister Dr. Louise Kpoto has met with the Pediatric Association of Liberia to explore strategies to improve child health and survival nationwide.

The Association emphasized the urgent need to include a national pediatric referral hospital, better neonatal data systems, and increased awareness of antenatal care (ANC).

According to a health ministry release, the Association underscored the importance of community engagement and mental commitment to reducing preventable deaths.

The release said key priorities include scaling up nutrition programs, health promotion, and targeted interventions to lower under-five mortality.

Health Minister Dr. Louise Kpoto commended the Association for its dedication and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and advancing child health services across Liberia.
