Pres. Boakai Calls Death of Former Minister of State Lasting Loss

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has described the death of former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Sylvester Grigsby, as an irreparable loss for the nation and its people.

President Boakai said,” The fallen statesman was a selfless character who will forever be remembered as a true brother”.

The Liberian Leader, on behalf of the government and people, extended condolences to the bereaved family for the irreplaceable loss sustained.

The President’s statement was contained in a tribute read by his son, Joseph Boakai Jr., over the weekend at the funeral service of the fallen former Minister of State for Presidential Affairs.

Several government officials also participated in the burial of the late statesman.

Minister Grigsby died on August 9, 2025, in Houston, the United States of America, at age seventy-seven.
