Liberia Broadcasting System Dir. Gen. Pays Courtesy Visit to Chinese Amb. Yin Chengwu

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) has paid a courtesy visit to the Chinese Ambassador, Yin Chengwu, as part of strengthening ties, and in appreciation of ongoing developments at the state broadcaster.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Director General Eugene Fahngon took the opportunity to request an additional outside broadcast van, in addition to the one initially provided, along with spare parts, to expand its reach efficiently around the country.

According to the LBS boss, he also requested additional manpower development, capacity building for human resource staff, and furnishing of two studios that are part of the new modern complex under construction.

Ambassador Yin Chengwu, in response, assured the LBS boss that in the shared interest of the bilateral relationship between China and Liberia, China has committed itself to working along with the Liberian people to ensure the socio-economic development of the country.

The Chinese Ambassador also pledged China’s continuous support to the China aid project with respect to the radio and television expansion project at the Liberia Broadcasting System.
