CSA Boss Urges August 7 “SAY NO TO DRUG” Organizers to Begin at Community Level

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Director General of the Civil Service Agency, Dr. Josiah Joekai, has urged organizers of the August 7, 2025, “SAY NO TO DRUG” march to begin the fight from the community level.

Dr. Joekai said,” While a one-day march of peaceful protest against drugs is part of raising awareness, the fight against such a menace must involve communities and all parents”.

In an interview on ELBC “Super Morning Show” on Monday, August 4, 2025, the CSA Director General admitted that the drug is endemic; as such, the government, civil society actors, and victims themselves must make the fight a national priority.

Dr. Josiah Joekai said,” The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) cannot fight drugs for which a broad-based community-led fight is the ultimate approach”.

He thanked Madam Roseline Armah Giddings and Madam Josephine Kolubah, two lead organizers of the “SAY NO TO DRUG” march, for speaking out and urged them to go beyond August 7, 2025
