20 Stranded Liberians Return Home from Senegal

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Twenty stranded Liberians from Senegal have arrived in Liberia.

They arrived via the Roberts International Airport (RIA) on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, through the joint efforts of the Liberian Government and the International Organization on Migration (IOM).

The stranded Liberians were received upon arrival by the IOM Re-integration Officer, Wakapue Wakanuah, and the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) Deputy Executive Director for Operations, Joseph Boye-Cooper.

Speaking at the RIA, Cooper said, “The repatriation of the stranded Liberians indicates that President Boakai’s commitment to providing safety and protection of Liberians in and out of Liberia.”

Joseph Boye-Cooper expressed gratitude to the government and the IOM and assured that the returnees would receive the government’s unflinching support.
