Pres. Boakai Describes Fallen Nigerian Pres. Buhari as “Towering Figure…”

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has described former Nigerian President Mohammed Buhari as a towering figure whose decades of service to Nigeria and the African continent earned him reverence and admiration.

In an Executive Mansion release issued recently, President Boakai recounted the former Nigerian Leader’s contributions to national unity, regional stability, and democratic governance.

The release said the Liberian Leader’s statement was contained in a message of condolence sent to his Nigerian counterpart, Bola Tinubu, following the death of former President Buhari on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

According to the release, President Boakai conveyed deepest condolences on behalf of the Liberian people and government to the government and people of Nigeria during this difficult period of national mourning.

In the release, President Joseph Boakai highlighted former Nigerian President Mohammed Buhari’s commitment to Nigeria’s progress and the preservation of its dignity, emphasizing that his voice and vision will be forever missed.
