THE UNITED STATES-President Joseph Boakai has emphasized the need for sustained engagement with the United States in addressing Liberia’s development priorities.

President Boakai also highlighted the need for a broader approach in addressing regional and global challenges.

He made the call on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in New York during a high-level meeting with Massad Boulos, White House Senior Advisor for African Affairs.

The engagement is described by President Boakai as a major effort in strengthening bilateral relations between Liberia and the United States.

Their discussions focused on key national and international issues, including matters of mutual interest to both governments.

The meeting also highlighted the significance of further deepening diplomatic, economic, and security cooperation with the United States.

In another development, the Liberian Leader wants diaspora Liberians to translate their commitment to the nation into investments and professional partnerships.

He made the call at a program organized in his honor by the United States Chapter of the National Independent Movement for Boakai (NIMBO).

According to a dispatch, the President called on Liberians to work together, free of political and ethnic differences.

President Boakai urged citizens to unite and reject tribalism, political bitterness, and personal attacks.

The Liberian Leader also outlined plans that are underway for a Liberia Diaspora Investment and Skills Initiative.
