Liberia U16 girls opened their campaigned with 79-46 points defeat at the hands of Ivory Coast U16 girls.
Despite a competitive effort, the Liberian girls fell short against their Ivorian counterparts.
The Ivorians proved their supremacy over Liberia when they defeated the hosts U16 boys 78-68 points in the late game on Friday.
The tournament officially began on Thursday with The Ivorians showcasing their dominance over Benin in both fixtures, claiming convincing victories — 73–31 in the girls’ game and 98–20 in the boys’ game.
The competition continues today Saturday, with Liberia scheduled to take on Benin in both the boys’ and girls’ categories.
The top-performing nation from the Zone 3 qualifiers will secure a coveted spot at the Kigali 2025 U16 Afrobasket Championship.
