Gender Ministry Condemns Alleged Sexual Assault on 31-Year-Old Woman in Mount Barclay

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Gender Ministry has condemned the recent alleged sexual assault of a thirty-one-year-old woman in Mount Barclay Community in Montserrado County.

According to a Gender Ministry release, the incident occurred in the early hours of June 26, when armed men broke into the victim’s home.

The ministry said the victim reported being threatened with a knife before one of the robbers brutally raped her, noting that it has taken up the case and vowed to ensure justice for the survivor.

In the release, the ministry reiterated its firm stance against all forms of sexual and gender-based violence, committing to hold perpetrators accountable.

The Gender Ministry is also urging the public to remain alert and report any cases of violence to the authorities.
