West Point Township Commissioner Worries over Huge Narcotic Substances Intake…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Commissioner of the Township of Westpoint says the huge intake of narcotic substances amongst the youth is troubling.

Commissioner McPherson Daweh said:” With the prevalence of drugs, I am calling on the Ministry of Gender to focus on the rehabilitation of drug users, to transform their lives. These users should be engaged regularly to consolidate efforts in the rehabilitation process.”

Commissioner Daweh disclosed that they have embarked on a peer education campaign intended to change and disabuse the minds of the youth who are constant users of drugs.

He cautioned parents to engage in dialogue with their affected children about the harmful effects of drugs.

Giving his experience, a former drug dealer and user, Abdullah Kamara, explained that he decided to quit drugs after he noticed that he was dying slowly by drastically losing weight.

Kamara, who is the main campaigner, noted that there are evils associated with the intake of drugs and harmful substances, and cautioned his colleagues to desist and embrace change to become useful in society.

The message was delivered on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, during an awareness created by the ‘New World Order Boys of West Point’, when several ghettoes in the West Point Township were visited.
