Dorbor Town, Neighboring Towns in Grand Kru County Calls on County Legislative Caucus…

GRAND KRU COUNTY, LIBERIA-Residents of Dorbor Town and surrounding settlements in Dorbor Statutory District, Grand Kru County, are calling on the County Legislative Caucus to help curb the danger posed to people crossing the Dorbor River in search of their living.

According to our Correspondent, the residents want budgetary allotment for the construction of a bridge over the river, or find other means to ease crossing difficulty confronting them.

The latest plead comes as a result of a recent incident in which two persons, pregnant 19-year-old Precious Carter and 16-year-old Jenneh Jargbah, disappeared when a canoe capsized, while crossing the Dorbor River. Two others were rescued.

Meanwhile, police and residents of Dorbor Town have mounted a search since the incident occurred Sunday, October 27, and are yet to find the missing persons.

At the same time, the people of Grand Kru County and Jegbetee Community in particular, want quick repair to a major bridge linking the county to other parts of their immediate surrounding and beyond.

Our Correspondent said the damaged bridge is the gateway to most of the people’s livelihood.
