EU Ambassador Welcomes War and Economic Crimes Court Endorsement in Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-EU Ambassador to Liberia Nona Deprez has welcomed the endorsement of the War and Economic Crimes Court by the Government of Liberia.

Madam:” Deprez said:” The EU member states support a Liberia-led victim center transitional justice process that will end impunity and increase accountability.

In a joint statement, Madam Deprez hailed the appointment of an Ombudsman, descending it as a good process.

The EU Ambassador believes that the vast majority favors the creation of the Court as evidenced by its endorsement by the National Legislature and the Liberian Leader.

She said:” Member states have a long-standing relationship with Liberia and shared values, the rule of law and democracy.

Ambassador Nona Deprez made the remarks recently on the EU’s Anniversary in Monrovia.
