Liberia Nat’l Police, Motorcyclist Union Sign Memorandum of Understanding

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia National Police (LNP) and the Motorcyclist Union of Liberia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, seeking to enhance public safety across Liberia.

At a press conference on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Deputy Police Inspector General Nelson Freeman said:” The MoU will ensure the involvement of the citizenry in promoting a culture of safety.

Col. Nelson said:” Both parties have agreed the terms and conditions of restricted zones for motorcyclists. Under the move, ELWA Junction through Tubman Boulevard to Monrovia remains a restricted zone as of May 15.”

For his part, Motorcyclist Union President John Kenyor assured the police of his group’s commitment to live by the agreement and ensure peace in the Country.

Mr. Kenyor then appealed for training opportunities for about 150 thousand motorcyclists in Montserrado County, stressing the need for coding and uniformity.
