Fmr. Pres. Weah, Others Sign Book of Condolence of Fallen Justice Nagbe

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Former President George Weah, and other partisans of the opposition Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) signed the Book of Condolence for the late Associate Justice, Joseph Nagbe, at the Temple of Justice in Monrovia.

Former President Weah, welcomed by Chief Justice Sie-A-Nyeneh Yuoh and other Justices of the Supreme Court of Liberia, along with his entourage, signed the Book in silence.

Consoling the bereaved family, former President Weah recounted that the demise of the fallen Statesman left a huge vacuum within the Judiciary, and prayed that the Lord would console them in their hour of grief.

Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe, who was also a former Senator, joined the Supreme Court in 2018 and died on March 2, 2024, after battling a protracted illness in Accra, Ghana.

His remains is deposited at the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home, awaiting state burial slated for April 11, at the Centennial Pavilion in Monrovia.

In another development, the Liberia National Bar Association is today holding its Annual Assembly in the coming hours at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Monrovia.

The legal gathering will run from Friday, April 5 to Saturday, April 6, 2024.

The Annual Assembly will bring together the Full Bench of the Supreme Court, Judges, Counselors, Attorneys, Magistrates, and Law School students.

The activities will include keynote addresses, legal education sessions, and business sessions, where several speakers will deliberate on different issues.

Meanwhile, all courts have been suspended today, Friday, to allow the full participation of legal practitioners in the Annual Assembly of the Liberia National Bar Association.
